Konoba Baro

A wonderful experience from start to finish! Konoba Baro in Okuklje is a true hidden gem of Mljet island. The location is stunning – right by the sea, with breathtaking views, especially at sunset. The food is outstanding – fresh fish, meat, homemade bread, delicious desserts and local wine that ties everything together beautifully are just a part of what you can enjoy at Baro. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, and the owners are warm and welcoming – you can really feel the local, family-run atmosphere. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic island dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

SY Miss Alma 42ft We returned this month to the Konoba Baro mooring quay (we have already been there in August 2021 and we were satisfied) The reservation was quick and easy by WhatsApp message. The place is run by a very nice family. Mooring dock stable and in good condition with electricity. We were served an excellent meal, with huge tuna steaks and excellent seabass at a reasonable price and the waitress was adorable. Highly recommended!!

Delicious grilled sea bass and squids accompanied with cold, local white wine. Service was attentive and kind. Kitchen greeting as the starter was a nice touch. We ended the meal with a perfectly cooked chocolate fondant. Prices are high like everywhere in Croatia, but this visit was worth every euro.

Very friendly service with mooring water and electricity, they also have buoys on the best side of the bay area where there is a small natural beach. The food is excellent with a real grill on the side of the restaurant. We were very happy and we came back a second time on the way to dubrovnik.

We game to the restaurant between lunch and dinner, so there was no one else there. At first we didn’t think we came to a very good restaurant, but the staff was very helpful and funny. We ordered the meat platter and it was AMAZING!! So many different meats, all wonderful, with some grilled vegetables and very tasteful homemade bread. The portion was so big we couldn’t finish everything, but we got the rest with us in a box. Absolutely recommend!!

I cannot say anything but great things about this family run restaurant, the food was impeccable, the views as well, the way Tony, Fani and Iva helped us from mooring to make us feel at home has no price. They don’t have unlimited water like the rest of the island, but gave us some for free to keep going. The town is very well sheltered from the winds and sea, so inside is very calm even when outside could be harsh.

Amazing greeting from the owner. At the mooring ball! The location is magical. The fish (Amber Jack 1kg) was perfectly prepared. Best fish we ever had. Service was also outstanding. Will definitely return if in the area.
